As detailed in his despatches No. 240 of the 21st and No. 245 of the 28th, and No. 258 of the 3rd of Sept., it is stated that not one of the present police stations in the colony is capable of being successfully defended, if no great expense is involved.
2. In his despatch of the 28th of Sept., it is stated that it might be well for the Surveyor General, when examining their construction from a sanitary point of view, to consider at the same time whether they could not be made defensible.
